I don't think this project should be abandoned. I think this would be an extremely innovative module. While demand might be small, it would be intense among the cognescenti able to use it. I am not smart enough to design it myself. I definitely could solder it together (with proper instructions). Or buy it as something finished, so as better to concentrate on making music with it. I can see getting three or four of them in the blink of an eye. The Wiard/Blacet tradition is all about innovation and experiment utilizing God's gift to mankind, i.e., control voltages. A Buchla-esque integration of digital voltage and signal manipulation into the analog environment is the next stage of our evolution on the planet. It is clear from Grant's last post that he has spent considerable time on this project, as have several others. If the initiative truly has ended, at the least I would hope there might be a wrap-up memorandum of some kind, with as much in the way of schematics/instructions/part sources as was developed.
