You are welcome.

AFAIK, all new Macs still ship with Classic (OS 9.2) pre-installed.
You would need to install OMS however, it will not interfer with your
OS X native CoreMIDI configuration for DP - they are seperate
entities and will not 'see' each other. OMS is made obsolete in OS X
in regards to CoreAudio and CoreMIDI. At worst, you would simply
need to make certain an OS X app is not trying to use your MIDI
Interface simultaneously with AN1xEdit under Classic. The only
screwball thing about Classic that irritates me is that it takes
ownership of my Epson USB printer forcing me to restart the printer
when I quit Classic else wireless printing from the Win machines on
my home network goes wonky (the printer is 'owned' by my Mac.)

Agreed. $199 is too steep if you've just the one hw synth, else it
could be a bargain for a large set-up.

itself....
Whether you organize them on the AN1x or in AN1xEdit, you'll need to
audition them regardless - not a bad way to become familiar with the
AN1x.
