Dunno about synth orchestras, but I've been having a lot of fun today
recording a simple string line but using (almost) all the synth engines I
have lying around. In the end I used my AN1X, Roland VK-7 (organ kbd with
strings and other sounds), Roland D110 and Yamaha DTX (drum module with GM
sounds), all playing the same part (one up an octave). Next time I'm going
to try adding my AN200, Kurzweil MicroPiano, a second D110, Ensoniq KS32,
Yamaha P120, Yamaha P50 and Nord Micro-Modular. All these synths have some
sort of string patch.
I've been trying to talk myself in to getting rid of some of the modules
that I hardly ever use, but this gives me an excuse to keep them all! And
I'm going to need a bigger mixer too ...
Enjoy,
