thanks for the link. but with all the mod possibilities alone, the
an1x has it all over the jp8000. i just wished i'd looked deeper into
the yamaha 8 yrs ago. the lack of knobs belied the power within. i was
absolutely shattered to learn that the thing has a step sequencer! i
never knew! argh!!!! i could've skipped the fr-777 and the tb-303 and
the xp60 and all manner of synths i've bought and sold over the years.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

thanks for that link too. i did read the faq before posting my
questions, and i realized that i'll need to hang on to my an200 even
after i get my an1x.

and a belated very big thanks to you for your awesome asr-x pro site.
gleaned a lot of great tips for use with the big red beast. i miss
her. one of these days i'll reacquire her and add a pc1600x like i
should have done years ago. it was just so frustrating with only those
two encoders and that tiny display. and i never made sense of that
chicken systems software. but whenever i got stumped, i headed over to
your site for inspiration and would always come away stoked. thanks
again...
