The Arpeggios are fixed. I think there's only 25 or 30.
But the Step Sequencer is almost the same in function... it repeats a programmed
pattern. The best way to program the sequencer in the AN1x is to use AN1x Edit,
the excellent editor with great visuals.
Third, there is another function which can be forced into use as an
arpeggiator - the Free Envelope generator can be assigned to various parameters,
including oscillator pitch. Therefore you can use it to play a sequence. The
arpeggiator and sequencer are mutually exclusive (you can use either one or the
other) but the Free Envelope Generator can function simultaneously with either.
Some very cool patches have been created with this combination, some very
rhythmic - trance, d&b, even funky, some very long slowly changing pads which
almost play themselves, and some really spacey, scary and humorous stuff.
