I had to return my Ion also for the same reason. They replaced 2 main
PCBs that have -every- knob and button on them. Two months since and
it is perfect. All banks in the ION can be overwritten, not just user
bank. Yes, effects are very limited (it needs more delay time real
bad) but the phasers and flangers it does have are excellent. I would
also agree it is best at recreating 60s- early 70s analog prog type
stuff (the AN1X is much better for a prophet5 sound). If you are
after techno, industrial,or whatever, the AN1X or access virus is a
better choice. Fortunately? I'm an old fart who learned about Analog
Synthesis at college on an ARP 2500 modular, and the old prog sound
was exactly what I was after. The ION is a hell of a deal at
$700.,and they have excellent factory support. BTW, my
name "Uralmoto2001"; yes I do have one w/sidecar (russian army
green). My dad is one of the original importers of the bike,so I got
it for dealer cost with a bunch of extra parts. Funny thing is,when
Russians see it, they ask me "WHY did you buy this? You have Harley
Davidson here!"
