Subject: son of weird noises

Spent last night making weird noises with the other half of the
Space Animals. He had Reason, I had the AN1X. Here's fun things to
change live for interesting effects.

Playing with the type of LFO and the speed of the LFO can generate
some very interesting sounds, lots of machine type beeps and boops
up to this awful wall of out of key distortion. The square wave
works well for the robotic repetitive stuff while the sine and
triangle give that nice sea sick sound. Of course use sample and
hold for the computer sound.

Vary the noise and the ring mod. Ring mod is really apparent if you
turn Osc 1 way down (4 octaves)

Vary the Osc sync depth. Vary the FM. Moving the fm and the LFOs can
lead to some outrageously rude sounds.

Effects send. Set the ribbon controller for echo and reverb.

Polyphonic portamento. Nice and weird. Try it with drum sounds.

Try both synths playing unsynched arpeggiators. Can get some real
interesting changing patterns.

I was(am) extremely covetous of Reason , but the AN1X held its own.
A bit of ditortion and some judicious knob twiddling and the AN1X
can be as rude as anything.
