At first I thought the same thing, I don't need more keys. I was checking out the Korg MicroKontoler this Am and it dawned on me.
If I adjust something, I might want to hear that, check it out, etc. That would mean, I have to twist off the keyboard or synth to do that adjust etc. I plan on using them with the Chameleon and nanosynths. So the keys would give me the press to adjust and move on effect. I did not consider this when I first started research this till this am.

I also plan on using it with the MMV and other softsynths.
oh don't mind me too much... I am just a mad man...

I got a few more to check out

M-Audio now owns both Midiman and Evolution. For the moment, there are still two product lines, but I'll bet that's going to change down the road.

>The M-Audio Oxygene8 is exceptionally cute and small and a great space saver - about the same size as your PC's keyboard - cool!!

When I was looking for a controller, I didn't want more keys. I just wanted knobs and maybe, switches. At $85US from Florida Music, it was just what I wanted.

If you want some of everything, Evolution's MK-425C/449C/461C and Midiman's Oxygen or Radium are good choices. Edirol's PCR-30/50/80 are even better: the keys feel better, the knobs are silky smooth, and the USB interface is 2-channel, with both In and Out jacks. They cost about 15-25% more than their competition, but IMHO, you can feel and see the difference.

Regards,

-BW
