Subject: more on posting patches

Gosh this wonderful world of computers and MIDI is fun. Bruce was
kind enough to post a link to WinZip. I downloaded it 3 times because
I couldn't find it. I looked under search, but Windows XP has this
stupid little animated dog that runs around, never finds anything, and
no way to search chronological. 3rd time, somehow, I figured how to
save it to the desktop, but I couldn't open it. Then I figured out
you can right click the files and there's a send command to send the
files to the Zip program. So I zipped all the files and sent them to
the list.Jon tried them and they were all messed up.So much for
uploading.

So I tried downloading patches this morning before work. Took a
couple times because I couldn't find them. I unzipped them. If I can
unzip, doesn't that mean I can zip? So all the patches start at #1,
so do I rename them or what? I want to load all new patches into the
machine. So I figured out you can cut and paste. By this time, I'm
about ten minutes late for work but I've got 128 patches ready to
load. I hit select all, then send. Ta Da. Nothing happened.

Hmmm.I'm working a twelve hour shift today. When I get home I will
try once more to zip the files, upload them, then download them,
unzip them and see if they work. If I can get the zip to work. And if
I can find things after I download them. And if I can figure out how
to load the sounds after I download them and unzip them. I'm afraid
Jon is turning gray pulling his hair out already so I don't wish to
try his patience much further.
