can you get your hands on a non-soundcard MIDI
interface? Like a Midiman Winman, or something
similar? i have heard that people have many problems
using midi applications with soundblaster midi
interfaces.
sorry if this isn't a major help, but using a
dedicated midi interface could prove to be useful for
you in many other ways too.
