Hi Phil. Thanks for a very good explanation.

I've come as far as to understand that - its all algorithms, used in
clever ways... :)

Dang... i'll need yet another cable. That'll be one of those MIDI
cables with DIN in one end and a "joystick plug" in the other, right?
I have a soundblaster AWE 64. I wonder if i can have a constant set-
up then. I was thinking i maybe wouldnt need to get the computer
involved. Today i have an AN1x (in/out/thru) connected to a Rm1x
(in/out/thru) which is also connected to a sampler (in)

Yeah i figured that... but i mean, lets say i want to use patch 67 on
track 8 of my rm1x sequencer.... i configure track 8 to send audio
on midichannel 8 and not send anything to the internal rm1x tone
generator. Can i save information in the An1x patch, so that it knows
it will listen to midi channel 8?

Uhm... could you explain that again?
thanks
