Subject: Re: [AN1x] MIDI problems...HELP!

From: Reggie <reggie@...>

OK, so, I checked the midi output of the crappy SB card on my other PC,
and it is sending out 24 'bank' messages on channel 16.

But it only does this from a 'Cold' boot. Doing a plain restart does
nothing, so I suspect that it is a spike through the card when it gets
it's initial power.

I suggest that you try plugging in the midi out of the card to the midi
in only on the AN1x (Don't connect the other one) AFTER the PC has
booted. That way you can test just the output once all the spurious
junk has gone out of the cable. Once the bootup junk has gone there is
no other midi data coming from the SB PCI card.

Now you know that it is a load of 'Bank' messages at least you can
filter it from the AN1x.

I hope this helps.
