Hi Guys,
Well, got my own An1x this weekend! We already have one at the studio, but my music partner works there full time and I never get to program it, so its going to be nice to have one at home.
I was wondering if there are any sets of patches I should look into and where. We have the London set, which has a lot of basses and leads, I'm looking for some other sets like that, I'm not sure if these were created by Yamaha or some third party.
Lastly, I need some music, this is a call to those generous folks who have a 2 minute upbeat track (140bmp +) that is mixed pretty well and would not mind donating it to a project. Here is the details: I own a mitsubishi Eclipse and drag race sometimes, we have a big get together in Ohio once a year and about 300 people come and race. A guy name Rick Santangelo video tapes the whole event and then puts together a cool video with titles and music and sells them to the people who want them for $20. He usually looses money on the whole thing as there are only a few people who want the video but every year he hopes to break even or make a little.
Well I saw last years video and the video was awesome, however, the music sucked ass, it was rock and it was terrible. I told him a year ago I'd do him some music and he said cool, and I never heard from him.. until last week! So he now needs a bunch of music by June 3rd, and I'm allready up top my eyes in it.
I am working on 3 pieces for him, but I need a 2 minute theme tune, The tune could be jungle, trance, or breaks, but it needs to be up beat, happy and evoke the emotion of "speed" and maybe make you think drag race! The piece would need to be mixed already or you could send me a CD with the separate wave files and I'll mix it.
So, if any of you generous souls can help out, I would be most grateful. In return you get some small amount of fame ( your music is on a video) you get to put that in your music resume, and you will get a free copy of the video, I know its not much, but for those of you who are trying to justify the expense of gear to your other half, here it is "But darling, I need that new synth/drum machine/sample CD, as I have this drag race project to do"
(btw.. this is how I started writing music, and my business partner, and we almost make a living doing it now! ;o) )
Thanks for the bandwidth!
Grant
