I think it is actually changing parameters on
the amt8. The amt8 has patches itself and when I
use a control and An1xEdit, the patch on the amt8
is somehow changed. I'm not sure what parameters
in the amt8 are being changed. If I turn on the midi
activity window (which prints out the midi activity)
it quits working also.

It did not occur to me that An1xEdit is using sysex,
I just assumed controllers (since I was using the Cutoff
control to diagnose the problem), but it makes more
sense that sysex data might be goofing up the amt8.
I'll check the documentation tonight.
