Hi Leo,
Regarding 'snap, crackle, pops'...
Yes, a known issue (and possibly corrected with OS1.4???)
The trick I found to avoid it (and I've yet to experience it again in the
past two years), is to not switch the unit off while it is still sounding a
note eg. the long sustain left over from a string patch, or hitting the
arp/seq button to stop the sequencer.
From what I can gather, corruption occurs to the patch during the autosave
whenever the unit is powered down. Note it only seems to occur to the patch
that you were just using, and you can select other patches which appear
fine, but go back to that patch and the crackles return. Then for some
reason it disappears altogether.
We've always put it down to the 'analogue' circuitry warming up before its
first use each day. ;-)
And welcome to the list.
Phil
(...who must also chase up this OS ROM update before it's too late!)

AN1x-list@yahoogroups.comSubject: [AN1x-list] Getting the new OS
<snip>
Today when i powered up my An1x it behaved strange. First i got some
louds pops and then when i played some tones some where like cut in
half (like a note off instantly when i actually was holding the keys
down). Then a kind of crackling noisy sound began sounding constantly
for like 40 seconds, then i turned the an1x off, and back on and the
crackling was still there but dissapeared after some 10 seconds. Then
everything sounded fine. Have anyone have similiar experiences? It
got me pretty worried now that i have no warranty and all. The only
thing i now is that i had not used it for the whole day and the room
was a bit cold when i powered it up. But still, its very strange!
