One well known tip to turn weak kicks into speaker trashers : play a very low sine or square sound at each beat. Of course
you may experiment a bit. I found it nice with an acid bass too.
And then, if your mix is still a bit thin, the kick-bass-kick-bass (bass on 1/2 beat) technique helps filling the lower end.
