If you're muddling around with your PC MIDI interface on a cheap
soundcard, perhaps installing MIDI-OX could help. MIDI-OX ("the
Swiss army knive of music applications") is a little program that
can both filter and display incoming and outgoing MIDI data.

I don't know off the top of my head where it can be found, but the
name is unique so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. The
program runs under 9x as well as NT.

This way I found out my AN1x sends out active sensing... heaven
knows why.
