Indeed you can't, 'cause it's not going to happen.

I've had this discussion before, but Linux, or any other Unix-ish operating
system, is a lousy desktop OS. These free Unices have been around for at
least five years now and nothing has come out that isn't available on either
Mac or Windows, and better and more sophisticated at that.

Server stuff yes, but the serious server programs are cross-platform anyway,
and often even build on the Win32 platform.

There's nothing that actually requires Linux specifically, and doesn't exist
in a more sophisticated incarnation elsewhere. Give me FreeBSD or Solaris
anytime.

If you want a Unix with a good desktop and software support, get Mac OS X
(in a few months).

That's the first thing I switch off on my Unix desktops. :)
