Being a Mac user I've no hands on time with the type of joystick port
MIDI interface you speak of. I do know that they are fairly common.
It's not a MIDI Port on a budget sound card is it? I've heard those are
not very reliable. C'mon PC users - speak up here! How about some
guidance please?!

USB - MIDI is haphazard at best. They ONLY user I know of using a USB
MIDI Interface w/ AN1xEdit successfully is Joop and his Emagic AMT8 on
his Mac. SysEx & USB are particularly ill matched. I've had some
feedback from Joop and Gary which will appear in an article on USB +
SysEx within the next few weeks (if I get off my butt and finish it!)

The correct thing to do.

Typical error message. Nothing new there.

Check under the help menu for an About option. Otherwise, select the
Icon for AN1xEdit, right click and select properties. On the Mac you
simply go to the Apple menu or use the Get Info key command. The
current version is v1.1 and is known to be stable (truth be told, all
versions I've used have been stable!)
