Hi Ed,
When you select a patch An1xEdit sends the patch. This includes patch matrix
parameters (in the same way that patches selected at the keyboard do). There
is nothing you can do about that...Matrix is (and should be) part of patch.
The Matrix controls how the patch responds to certain controllers. It does
NOT change what the controllers send!!
Patches do not include the system parameters (Transmit Channel, Keyboard
Transpose, Controller Device and Controller Number settings). These system
parameters are only transmitted if you perform a refresh synth (from the
Util menu) or hit the SEND button in the System area of the library page.
(They may also be sent if you have the AutoUpdate option checked under Setup
and are switching between multiple loaded libraries!).
If you are observing the send information setup of various knobs changing
then you are altering the system somehow...not the patch. In your example
assigning a knob to Tempo is only available as a system function (you cannot
setup a patch to perform this mapping via the Matrix)
Regards
Gary Gregson

AN1x-list@yahoogroups.comSubject: [AN1x-list] AN1x Edit sends Setup changes
This question is directed to Gary, about the editor software.
When a patch is sent to the AN1x, it also sends the parameters for the Setup
row of the matrix. This can cause a lot of frustration at minimum due to
the Transmit Channel, Keyboard Transpose, and especially the Controller
Device and Controller Number settings being changed. For instance, if a
patch is loaded, and I've been using Knob 4 as Tempo, the editor changes
that setting to what was in the patch.
Is there any way of preventing these changes from going to the synth?
