Really consider the Hardware,

it allways works (no setting up software, reinstalling stuff etc) and is way
more reliable on stage. ANyway I am a big advocate of the hardware cause...i
allways prefer hardware over software...it's much more intuitive to play
around with real buttons, knobs, faders and leds than to stare at a
computerscreen cluttered with windows, trying to 'play' a virtual instrument
using your mouse. Price? Well, if you consider the price of a good Audio PC
& Software and Consider the resell value of hardware versus PC+Software
after say 10 years from now, hardware is a clear winner.

Met Vriendelijke Groet / With Kind Regards,

post really isn't about my wonderful AN1X but it might have some impact on
it. I am looking into getting a sampler and debating between getting an
actual hardware sampler. Thinking of a esi 4000 or 2000, something along
those lines. Or if I should just build a computer dedicated to audio. And
use some sampling programs and also use it to sequence. I will most likely
and hopefully be using this set up live and it will have the An1x, a akai
ax73 and in time a drum pad system running in/out of it. I think a computer
would be a more useful way to go but I really do like hardware
better...easier to use, less crashes....more buttons... but also more money
which I don't have.
