Subject: Re: [AN1x] using the AN1x as a controller

Hi Jim,

you will also need to set your VST to the same channel as your AN1x /MIDI controller too. It may be that your AN1x won't function as a fully mapped MIDI controller , meaning that the VST controls won't be fully tweakable from it but it should function as a playable keyboard/sequencer thru the VST host.

Also note that some VSTs are standalone and some must be played thru a host ( DAW).

Here's a link for a USB MIDI interface ( its in £ Sterling as i'm in the UK , but you get the idea of what your looking for).

I use a 4 x 4 for synths/drum machines etc into my PC with both standalone and hosted VSTs.

With standalone VSTs you can record straight into a wave recorder ( i.e. Audacity/Goldwave).

Hope this helps

Greg

Sure. What you need is a MIDI interface and a VST host application. I've got an M-Audio M-Track 2x2M connected to my Windows 10 PC. (Haven't tried MIDI yet though, long story).
