I don't think your question is coming across correctly.

As pointed out in the previous - a soundcard is an audio interface - they are one and the same.

If you want to record the audio output of your AN1x to your laptop then yes - you will need an audio interface of some kind.

If you want to control a 'VSA' (do you mean VST?) with the MIDI Output of your AN1x then yes - you will need a MIDI Interface for your laptop too.

Be advised there are many makes of models of soundcards yet they do not all include a built in MIDI Interface - and vice versa.

For example, the Scarlett series from Focusrite is currently popular. The Scarlett 2i2 is "only" an audio interface where as the Scarlett 2i4 is both an audio and MIDI interface. I would encourage you to visit the manufacturers web page of any item under consideration and read the specifics so you make an informed choice.
