Hi
An1x cant hardly be compared with JD8000 or anything. Its similar to CS60 or CS80. First thing
you should know is, that its most important Parameter is Feedback. If you set it between zero and 30 you will get an very thin or modern sound. With Feedback=50 you get an straight synthesizer and moving it up to 80 or 90 you will get an "boese",angry CS machine. Filter, FX, Tracking .. everything changes. So forget everything about analytical programming.
Dont use Edge=127 for Sawtooth use EDGE around 117.
http://home.arcor.de/richardon/2011/an1x_waves.txtFilters :
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
If you want to get them self oscillating you have to emphasis the "cut off" with the high Pass.
12 dB is more resonat than 24 dB. I like the 18 dB mode. If you choose Feedback around 85
the filters will produce two formants like an CS 80. But you have to emphase this with the Low Pass and therefore this will produce an an typicall CS Bandpass Sound. You can add full Spectral range in Dual mode.
MATRIX
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
Its not only an device to add Controler Modulations. Its an device to build complex Key Tracking (Bias) and Velocity Functions. Without this AN1X sounds are too static. So you have to include the MATRIX (Velocity, Key Range) in your Basic Sound programming. ( Use Keyrandom to achive even more analog fealing. )
The Matrix doesnt work logical in all parameters. In many cases its necesarry to use negative values and to adjust the controled value. With An1x Editor sometimes an bug will accure and
your sound will be destoyed, because some main parameters have changed. Espacially if you set the Matrix value to DIRECT. Dont do that. In this case store the sound and recall it. This will fix the bug
Ringmodulation :
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
There are many ways to achive Ring /AM/ FM modulation.
Use the Ring Modulation Mix Knob to add static modulation.
Use the FM Modulation to create intrinsinic detuning and special effects.
But dont forget to create basic AM (Ring) FM Modulation. AN1X LFO are very fast !
Set LFO to 200 or higher, modulate and hear a beast :-)
Sync FM Modulation
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
Use it to emulate some Rhodes, Vocal, Natural Sounds and especially Spectral Sounds.
You can spend the rest of your live to do this. Or just use snme of my templates.
Polyphomic Modulation
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
An1X is only providing 3 polyphonic Modulators :
Filter EG, Amp EG and Pitch EG.
Try to use Pitch EG for special purposes. EG. you can use it via PW to create a second polyphonic EG.
Free EG
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
Its monophonic, so dont use it as a master Function. You can make sounds more interesting to change parameters over a longer time. But dont make the changes to strong and use it delayed. Without delay it will destroy the polyphonic modulations. You van also use the Free
EG as an second ARP. Thats not easy to program. Use my templates.
Its also useful to create mellotron detuning, like in my example sounds.
ARP
∗∗∗∗∗
Only some fixeds ARP.
Step SEQ
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
A good way to create some Drum Tracks. Variations can be Triggered with notes.
(Didnt try this this yet)
SOUNDS
∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗∗
I will update my AN1X Sounds frequently on my website
http://home.arcor.de/richardon/richy2001/frame.htmIn the moment every week.

You cant never explore them all in a singel live
Best regards
