Subject: Re: MIDI interfaces?

Hi, I use a MOTU MIDI Express 128, 8∗8 USB MIDI Interface and it works fine with the AN1x

Now, one problem that you have alluded to is that some drivers for the interfaces have small buffers which can cause problems if you try and send the SYSEX messages in one go. In fact when I moved to the MOTU interface compared to my older Maya interface, I found that I had problems for this reason in the software that I write, and I had to adapt the programs to be able to set and adjust the buffer size that I use to send data. So if the message doesn't fit in a buffer, it is split into several chunks and sent with a small delay between each chunk.

I can't speak for AN1xEdit (as I don't use it), but my an.factory program (www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk) works fine with the MOTU interface and the AN1x.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Derek
