Now Dan, if the list lost Jimmy, we wouldn't have any fun anymore. Or I
might turn into a dick like you and drive everybody else away leaving you to
rant here alone.... Oh, and by the way, I have lost my patience, so here's
an answer:
The first suggestion I'd provide is for the guy with the question about
shutting off MIDI data to get MidiOx.exe. Google it, get it, and run it and
look at what the AN1x is actually sending.... It's a MIDI data stream
analyzer (as well as other great stuff, and it's free).
Most likely, it IS Active Sensing (a data stream that is meant as sort of a
beacon signaling that the synth is on, working, and in the chain). But
there could be a faulty control that may be constantly sending, such as a
knob or the ribbon that is stuck and is continuously transmitting.
To my knowledge, you can't disable Active Sensing in the AN1x. You'd need
to get some external unit that will filter it for you. Once you get MidiOx
up and running you'll see that it has the ability to filter data, and I
think the default set of filters DOES have it on... that is, unless you go
into the filters section and disable all filters, you won't see Active
Sensing data in the stream. Learn to use MidiOx because it can really help
solve a lot of problems.
Buying something external that filters data might be your best choice if
your software can't ignore it (or it is interfering with the general MIDI
data flow, which in most cases it shouldn't unless you're doing some
extremely heavy sequencing.) I use an old MIDI patch bay, an MX-8 to do
filtering... it's a very powerful piece of gear.
