Arthur,

It's not a bug, it's typical wear and tear. As you've probably learned by now, but I'll restate
it anyway, turning a Control knob while pressing it allows for fine editing adjustments, i.e.,
allows you to dial in a specific value - simply turning a Control knob left or right allows for
a larger increase or decrease in the value range.

If the previous owner was a bit ham fisted, then the encoders on your AN1x may have
been subjected to more wear and tear then necessary. They tend to become a little jumpy
under ordinary use - particularly Control Knobs that are frequently accessed such as
Assign Knobs 5 & 6 - which happen to be Filter Cutoff and Resonance. The best thing to
do is to follow the recommendations put forward by Jeff and Bob and clean the encoders
using the suggested solvent. This is not untypical when purchasing used gear :-/

You've restated the problem and it's understood, but you didn't answer the inquiries for
more information from your previous email:

Is this happening all the time, regardless of whether it is the Factory Voices or User
Voices? If so, then try and clean the encoders as suggested.

If this is happening only on select Voices, then it is possible some data corruption might
have occurred during the SysEx transfer or perhaps there is an erroneous controller
mapped to the VCF Cutoff that you are not aware of. Providing a specific example that
somebody might be able to reproduce would allow further effort to be made in
troubleshooting this issue. Some details on your system might be helpful too - such as the
type, make and model of MIDI Interface you are using and which set of drivers are in play.

Regards,

Jon
