How many people even *know* what the correct fuse is supposed to be for their synth? And how many of those *actually have* a fuse of the correct size and rating handy when one fails? Basically zero people. FWIW that's about the only time I *would* just shotgun the power supply capacitors.<br class="">

I've found maybe about a dozen "bad caps" in various bits of electronic equipment over the years, but half of them had been murdered by shorted bridge rects in linear power supplies.<br class="">
