You're supposed to know more than just the basics before you start designing high performance audio mixers. It's more of a top-down from the architecture book than a bottom up from 'what's a transistor do'.</div>

That said, an awful lot of fresh graduates I interviewed after I replaced Douglas at Soundcraft didn't even know the basics !</div>
