The 2xxx series SRAMs were in NMOS, whereas 6xxx series were in early metal gate CMOS. The 2xxx series used more power but tended to be slightly more reliable at first, but that advantage disappeared by the early 80s.</div>

<div>6514 seems to use a tenth of the power that the 2114 does. 7 mA vs 70 mA max operating current. Not sure if there's anything else that's significant. </div>

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 2114 and the 6514 SRAM? There are a few variants with different read/write times, but in general I can't find any real difference in the datasheets. (again this is for my OB-Xa, which uses two 2114 and two
6514 - the 6514 are missing, quite likely replaced by a 6116 on the JLCooper MIDI-interface board).<br>
