Interesting, alas I missed that date.<br>


Something like that was in the back of my mind as a project (on my<br>


toilet paper roll TODO list ...)<br>


after being introduced to a "speech extractor" product by a HAM radio<br>


guy with hearing difficulties,<br>


which tracked harmonic envelopes to sort out what's speech and what isn't,<br>


so I thought, how about separating several speech profiles, and other<br>


noise sources, by determining coherent FFT frequency bin envelopes,<br>


probably could use smaller neural nets for that, which is "how the cool<br>


kids do things these days".<br>


I imagine that separating several speakers from blanket "noise", and<br>


perhaps each other, to be easier than different types of noise, music<br>


etc - but for me, the latter wouldn't be that interesting, so far.<br>

The inspiration came from trying to listen to interviews being given,<br>


with some protesting going on in the background, the noise floor of<br>


which made listening difficult, unpleasant or both, and it would seem<br>


nice if you just had a bunch of sources with checkboxes presented, and<br>


could uncheck the background noise ones.<br>


As it goes with something like that, it could be used for nefarious<br>


purposes also.<br>
