the accident. The screwdriver being VDE meant that the electrical<br>
current went through part of my finger creating no lasting damage<br>
instead of going from one hand to another and through my heart. You<br>
never know when it'll try and hit you, and as people who work with<br>
electricity that is mostly at harmless voltages, we are especially<br>
prone to get complacent when working with electrical circuits. That's<br>
why it's good to use all VDE tools, even use precision tools that are<br>
VDE. One day you'll be happy you did. You have to help your luck a<br>
little. Wera have some really wonderful swappable-shaft small-size<br>
screwdrivers that are VDE and where the shaft is not thicker due to<br>
the insulation. They're very practical and are very high quality. As<br>
for tools you can't get as VDE, consider just putting some heat shrink<br>
insulation over the screwdriver shaft or whatever metal handle you're<br>
using. That's the part that helps most.<br>
