Just the power supplies, i've never noticed any individual modules running hot. I use mostly power-one or condor PSs, which have substantial aluminum frames that do a good job as heat sinks, as long as there's free convective air movement around them they seem fine without fans. imy main DIY has 3 cabinets with 4 or 5 frac racks @ - i haven't measured individual module current draw, but each cabinet has it's own 3amp supply, seems fine.

flxmnky

On Sat, Dec 25, 2021 at 9:57 PM cheater cheater via Synth-diy <synth-diy@synth-diy.org> wrote:

Hi all, I was wondering how people approach cooling in modular synths.
Specifically larger systems. Do you find that having free convection
or even forced cooling is necessary?
Also, what sort of power draw do your synths have?
Thanks
