working prototype was even completed. You NEVER do that. The
pre-Buchla prototype was never satisfactory, Gibson was paying
expensive warehouse costs for these parts that couldn't be used, and
the value of these components were dropping like a rock. So when
Buchla was brought in, it was under the condition that the purchased
components had to be used wherever possible.</pre>
