Hi everyone.

I am also worried about these new specs.

I have not taken enough time to read all the technical
documents yet but my crude impression is they changed
a ridiculously simple and reliable protocol into something
way too convoluted and closed (registration needed).

My personal wishes were improved resolution for CC and
possibility to increase the baudrate on MIDI DIN if the
device supports it.

Let see what follows.
that it needs USB currently (they've not agreed any other
transport layers yet), and that a lot of smaller manufacturers
will struggle to implement this. Alongside that, you'll need to be
registered with the MMA to get an ID so the CI portion will work
      properly.
Also a lot of the new features seem to have already been covered
      by MPE.
I get that in theory this is better than 1.0, by a long way,
however I worry for the smaller manufacturers that this may push
      things too far.
