Pffff, fine tip. My trusty 3mm chisel tip won't get in corners near a crowded case's walls, but other than that, soldering a couple adjacent QFP pins at a time with prior fluxing usually doesn't require using wick for me. Some people are really good at dragging over all pins of one side of a QFP and perfectly soldering every pin, without needing wick either, I haven't really tried, though :D I assume it takes practise to get a feel for the dragging speed vs. solder used.</div>

<div>With wet sponge? That draws a lot of energy.<br/>
I prefer to use a little container stuffed with those curly brass shavings, they don't cool down the tip so much, and IMO, actually clean it better.</div>
