People decide for themselves where to draw the (blurry) line, e.g. Do I want to etch my own PCBs/use stripboard and cut and drill front panels or have it smart and professional looking by instead buying these ready-made? If someone suggested SDIYing with e.g. discrete components instead of ICs, most people would suggest that would be counter-productive.<br/>
