      I like the list, too *g*<br>

      I do use stackoverflow and stackexchange for other things...<br>
      It's not everyone's most liked way of answering questions or
      getting them answered, though / depends on the situation.<br>
      They are strict about questions being very precise, not broad, and
      certainly nothing that would provoke those dreaded opinions as
      replies.<br>
      It's not for discussion, let alone chat.<br>

      Perhaps there could be value in *also* having a format like that.
      But somebody mentioned spreading thin... SDIY is quite a niche
      topic.<br>
      Then again, if it's more visible than a mailing list, who knows
      what happens. Especially because users of other stackexchange
      subforums might stumble upon SDIY.<br>
      (I don't know how active SDIY discussions are on sites I only know
      exist but not much more, like electromusic forums. Maybe the
      subject is more exposed than I am perceiving)<br>

        focused and relevant group! I don't like "social media" formats
        with all of their nagging distractions.</p>
