Although I do know commercial software products where they try to incoporate customer's wishes in some way or another, some even survey.<br/>

With KiCad my impression was they are fine with certain things I don't like, as others have complained about some things to no avail.<br/>
I wouldn't expect a lot voicing disapproval with some aspects of some people's hobby pet project.<br/>
I'm not even really complaining about *that* fact (if that's accurate).<br/>
Just stating that (I think) it's that way and from what (I think) I can expect, it probably won't be for me.<br/>

So what is left?<br/>
I mean, we were discussing why this or that aspect of software package A or B was great or not so much.<br/>
So I explain why I don't like something and how it looks to me.<br/>
Can't see that's wrong, but the other dude seemed to imply it is. That I "must" fix it instead of complain.<br/>

You're missing the point, though. The thing is, you *can* work to<br/>
change it. File bugs or feature requests. Get involved with the<br/>
community and talk to the people who *do* develop it.<br/>
<br/>
Contrast this with (for example) Eagle, where if you approach them with<br/>
a bug report or feature request you will be told "Fuck you, we've<br/>
already got your money".<br/>
