Just seemed weird. But after 50-odd years of hearing/saying "sodder", it's kinda' stuck in my psyche that way. </div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1487875643649_408972" dir="ltr">But we can thank the French, in large part, for their contribution of words containing superfluous letters.
