<div>Heh. Even if I am in the situation: Weekend now, want to try something out -> so it's perfboard wiring time.</div>
<div>I still use DipTrace for assistance. I'll make the schematic, convert to board, roughly arrange the components.<br/>
I have diptrace on a windows tablet with stylus, which fits even on a crowded workbench ;)<br/>
Replicate the rough arrangement on my copper eyed board, soldering all components.<br/>
Grab "coil wire" (whatever that's called in english)<br/>
And then this:<br/>
foreach N in Nets<br/>
highlight N in diptrace pcb</div>
<div> solder-connect all pins of N with "coil wire"</div>
<div> color N with my "done" color, so it's visible immediately what's still to be done</div>
<div>
<div><br/>
This at least somewhat helped to reduce the errors made for me, and the overall time taken, despite some extra effort of entering the schematic.<br/>
It would of course speed up things more if diptrace could import LTspice files properly (it has some sort of spice net import, I tried it shortly once and was unsuccessful).</div>

I think Dave's method is frankly insane but a Neat Hack.<br/>
<br/>
As long as people are trying something different and happy with the results<br/>
they get, it's all good.<br/>

I fall in Dave's camp of insanity too. I don't make PCBs at home - I build<br/>
everything on pad-per-hole board ;)<br/>
<br/>
I also find it therapeutic<br/>
