<p>To a large extent, yes - but that certainly doesn't mean there
aren't alternatives.</p>

upping production to meet demand & ii) porting things over to
euro<br>
But my ways work for me!</p>
<p>I ruled out wider DIY a long time ago - one has to focus. (though
someone did recently do the Orgone Accumulator in banana frac
format)<br>
Interestingly, given the comments on 'playing live', my reason for
doing my own niche of the existing frac niche was that the general
prior fracs were too damn deep (due to perpendicular PCBs etc).</p>
<p>I think a lot depends on what people/makers want to achieve - I
think a lot of euro module offerings come really from 'hobby' (in
no ways denigrating) - there are only a relatively small handful
of big players (Makenoise, Intellijel, etc)beside the wider
industry big-players who are dipping their toes (Moog, Roland etc)<br>

Moog Mother-32 and Eurorack case
Dave Smith DSM01 and DSM02
Waldorf KB37, NW1, etc…
…and modular manufacturers from the “early modern days” — people who spearheaded the resurgence of modular manufacturing, often with their own formats (MOTM, Wiard, Cyndustries) are either making Eurorack modules, or having other companies offer their modules in Eurorack.
It seems like if one wanted to get into manufacturing modules “for real” and try to sell them, Eurorack is the way to go.
Just curious about people’s thoughts…
As an aside, Kirpatrick Audio’s format looks like it has been *incredibly* well thought out:

But alas, doesn’t seem to have caught on.
As another aside, I incidentally noticed that the width and height of 500 series modules seem to match up with the frac rack format, with 1.5” width models. Of course, the power connector and target application is totally different, and 500 series need to have a particular depth.
