IDE is SW4STM32 (system workbench for stm32 by ac6 - well it's actually just an Eclipse plugin) with STM32Cubemx (for pinning and initialization of peripherals). Good thing is I have to learn (well, actual learning not needed as you can just press Ctrl-Space on keyboard in Eclipse for the context help) the new HAL APIs, but hopefully it makes the future migrations to other chips easier.

On Sat, Dec 12, 2015 at 12:07 PM, Vladimir Pantelic <vladoman@gmail.com> wrote:

On 12/11/2015 11:13 PM, Gordonjcp wrote:
I've just bought some I2S DACs (PT8211, they cost pennies) to hang
off an STM32. Rather than mbed (which is interesting looking stuff
that I haven't played with) I'm using just plain gcc-arm and
libopencm3.
same here, PT8211 on my desk and plain gcc and Makefile

I played with mbed only briefly and found the "download binary and copy to mass storage" cycle way to long and click intensive compared to a simple "make program" that has my code compiled and uploaded in seconds.
