So is the external threshold input on the comparator is just a fixed value since the pot is disconnected from the circuit,

Yes. :) As long as the Voltage that you're popping into the External is unchanging - your Reference at the Comparator, is unchanging. :)

On the Lag processor, the buffer is VERY useful - for the Lag processor's output. :O :) If you didn't have a buffer after that cap, then as soon as there's a place for the Cap. to discharge to, it will. :O :(
The Buffer itself, is giving the cap an almost impossible route, for discharging. The only other place that it can discharge to, is back where it came from. (I.E. A lower voltage at the Lag Input, will allow the Cap. to discharge to that level, through the Lag Time pot.)
Outside of THAT - if the Buffer is used by itself, it is still very useful for buffering the input from something else, where it may be needed..

I will double check everything again but as far as I can tell everything else is working fine except the Lag pot. Also I'm using a 2 - TL082's since I don't have a TL084 can this be a prob?
