The Chameleon looks good but it is as expensive as buying a Nord G2 engine.<br>
With everything I build, one of my primary concerns is cost... DIY to create a piece of gear I could not afford.<br>

I looked at the Analog Devices Ez-kit... it costs around $250 which is
ok but nto a greta price for a DSP board that is 3 years old. Again, a
Nord micromodular seems like a better deal in comparison.<br>

Any other options?<br>

<br><br>the chameleon *is* mostly an open source product; you don't have to<br>open source your skins, but the good ones (like entity as you<br>mention) are open source, and there is lots of stuff to play with<br>both on the code and strictly-play side of the fence ..
