<div>Hope you like the Silicon Valley. I love it here. It's October 5th and we're supposed to be at a nice 82 degrees (F) today. Basically, the weather's nice, the people are friendly, and the houses are expensive!! (Average house price in Santa Clara is right around $700K. Yes, that's the AVERAGE price). Then again, the reason the housing is so expensive is because so many people want to live here, and so many people want to live here 'cause it's a great place. Supply and demand, you know.

<div>As far as SDIY related content: Starving Musician on El Camino Real in Santa Clara is definitely worth a visit. It's a small place, but the occasional amazing bargain can be found. I picked up an Ensoniq ESQ-1 with a bad octave on the keyboard for $50. Works just fine through MIDI, so I'm happy. Guitar Center (Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose) is also fun (although I must admit, I've never actually bought anything there). For DIY parts, there are several good surplus stores in the valley. My personal fave is Halted Specialties 
<a href="http://www.halted.com/">http://www.halted.com/</a>  They're a little tough to find (print out a Google map), but always fun to visit. The local Fry's Electronics stores are also fun. There are several in the area, and although the help isn't the greatest, they do have good prices on computer gear, along with some DIY parts and test equipment. As far as clubs, etc, check out the local Wave and Metro magazines. They're free and available at most coffee places. By the way, if you like coffee, there's a Starbucks or an Orchard Valley Coffee or a Pete's Coffee pretty much anywhere you look down here. There are five coffee places within a five mile radius of where I live.
