I tried to order an EFM one but had a bit of an.. incident.. which
resulted in my money being refunded. So I am looking for
alternatives. I was thinking of the Paia one (which actually
costs a little more than I wanted to spend) but I read on another
thread that it has poor resolution and can be off by 1 or 2 semitones?! Hmm...

How about the EFM one. I have one unbuilt so I can't say for sure
how good it is, but I've built the EFM MIDI to gate and that works
great. I also have a Kenton Pro Solo that works good. I bought it for
$100 and that's about what it's worth.

know of some good cheap midi->CV for use with a homebrew
modular? I don't mind if its in format of external box or of
PCB/diy module.. but my only requirement for a PCB is that I can order
the (unpopulated) PCB and don't have to etch/whatever myself. I
would prefer something with velocity sensitivity (is this possible?).
