blowing dust off the insides, I pieced the 909 back together and turned it on.
Everything seemed to work, except that the sw_board occasionally shorts (?). I
wonder if I should take it apart again and give it a proper cleaning, since the
initial inspection/dusting/rebuilding seemed to have somewhat of a beneficial
effect.</FONT></DIV>

problem associated with the unit was described as "<FONT face=arial
color=black>will sometimes power up and work for a minute or so, but
it always locks up. Sometimes it wont power up at all." I tried a
few times to get the unit to power on but was not able to. I took it apart and
inspected the boards. To my newbies eyes, everything appeared okay. The pcbs
didn't have any cracks, the solder looked good (no cracks), no burnt diodes or
popped capacitors or anything of the sort. Everything was complete, and the
unit wasn't too dirty or dusty.</FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>

to continue. I have a cheapy multimeter, but haven't taken the time to learn
