actually, I am a graduate philosophy student and if anyone really wants to read
exactly how SERIOUS this issue is in terms of what we can claim to know, what
we can claim about anything whatsoever, there are a couple CHAPTERS or so (yes,
that's right) in Bertrand Russell's "Introduction to Mathematical
Philosophy" that analyze nothing but words such as 'the' and 'and'
and 'a'....this is more important than you may initially think, not merely for
"practical" fields like engineering etc., but indeed for reason qua
reason.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
