pots seem to jitter a bunch.. i tested with the recommended 10k and it's
fine.. i guess it's pulling to much power when i have some more then a few

are talking about using it as a voltage divider, you only need to be
considered about the loading effects of whatever resistance is hanging off it.
If you want it to act like an audio taper, you can purposely put an
"excessive" load on it. If it's going to be used as a gain element in an opamp
feedback loop, you can change the other gain setting resistor and still get
